After announcing the Xperia XZs smartphone at Mobile World Congress earlier this year, Sony has now launched the device in India. Priced at Rs 49,990, the smartphone will be available for pre-order from today until 11th April at all Sony Centers, select retail outlets, and on Flipkart.

The Sony Xperia XZs runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p screen with a 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by Snapdragon 820 processor. The SD 820 is a quad-core 64-bit 14nm processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It packs 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory with a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 256GB. It features the same camera as of Xperia XZ Premium — 19-megapixel Motion Eye lens at the back. This means that it can also do the 960-frames-per-second slow-mo video. Since it captures larger pixels, Sony says low light performance has improved as well.

The camera has Predictive and Laser autofocus, plus an RGBC-IR sensor for natural color rendering. On the front, there’s an impressive 13MP (1/3.06”) sensor with a 22mm wide-angle lens. On camera department, Xperia XZs smartphone gets a 19-megapixel primary camera with good camera options. Another 13-megapixel sensor is equipped on the front for selfies. Other connectivity in the device include Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, and USB Type-C (USB 3.1) port. Besides it, the sensor range includes ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer. The phone carries Sony’s signature feature — water resistance. Instead of glass on both sides, the Xperia XZs has got a metal back. It also packs DSEE HX, LDAC, Digital Noise Cancelling, and a Fingerprint sensor for extra security. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Further, the device gets power from a 2900mAh battery with Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology support.
