BlackBerry has announced a new smartphone – the BlackBerry Z3 at Mobile World Congress

Company CEO John Chen did the honours suggesting: “We are definitely here to compete and make up some lost ground”

The BlackBerry Z3 is a full-touch smartphone that comes with a 5″ display & runs BlackBerry OS 10.2.1.

Specification wise the Z3 comes with a 5″ qHD resolution screen & is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 chipset with 1.5GB RAM. At the back, is the 5MP camera, while on the front is the 1.1MP sensor.

Made by Foxconn for BlackBerry, the Z3 will launch sometime in April & will cost less than $200.

It will run with the latest version of BB’s operating system as well as a host of features yet to come to light.

The Z3 will be targeted at the emerging Southeast Asian mobile market being sold first in Indonesia in April for under £120.

The company has priced the Z3 quite attractively with the phone costing only $200 in Indonesia.

Blackberry has been posting huge decline in sales in the past few years. The Z3 is certainly priced right for emerging markets.
