New Microsoft Lumia Smartphone – Rumored as “Superman”

Microsoft completed their take over of Nokia’s mobile services division last week, the company now owns the Lumia brand, and it would appear that we may have some details on the first Microsoft Lumia smartphone.

According to a recent report by The Verge, Microsoft are working on a Lumia smartphone that is codenamed ‘Superman’, and the handset will focus on the front facing camera.

The front facing camera on the Lumia Superman will apparently be a 5 megapixel version, we guess that Microsoft are looking to make a better Windows Phone device for taking selfies.

Source close to the matter claim the smartphone sports a 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display, which suggests that this might be a mid-range device.

Although Microsoft did not explicitly confirm its interest for the “selfie industry,” the fact that the Nokia Superman will be packed with such an impressive front-facing camera suggests the Redmond-based company plans to take advantage of every trend on the smartphone market.

Nokia Superman is expected to make its debut on the market alongside the second update for Windows Phone 8.1, which is scheduled for release later this year.

The first Windows Phone 8.1 update is expected to arrive sometime in June, though an exact release date will probably surface in the coming weeks.
