Samsung Galaxy X First Foldable Smartphone with Bendable Screens to be launched in 2017


Technology Giant Samsung had a worst year in several decades in terms of mobile phones. The company had gone through major production cuts and recall of their flagship Galaxy Note 7 smartphones. They had suffered heavy losses in revenues and in terms of goodwill. Samsung made several efforts to solve the crisis but still it made a big dent on company’s image. So, to overcome market nervousness they are betting big on foldable phones and may launch by end of this year. According to reports they will are in initial stages of starting production of prototype foldable smartphones. Even company had  filed a patent with the Korean Intellectual Property Office. Patent filed for a smartphone that can be folded in half which means it not bendable but foldable.

Samsung just registered a new patent, which shows that the company is making a new foldable phone that is something you haven’t quite seen before.This design is quite similar to the concept on which the Surface Book was based on. The idea isn’t exactly surprising. Samsung previously announced that they would launch a foldable phone in March 2015

Previously we had seen cool displays of Samsung edge but something bigger and cooler might be launched by samsung very soon. Samsung has been working on this technology from several years and also showcased them at many events. Reports suggest that Samsung would be launching this prototype Foldable ultra slim and luxurious under the name as “Samsung X”.
You might think the Samsung Edge display is cool, but something cooler is coming very soon. Samsung has been working on foldable displays for many years now, and the Korean giant might be ready to showcase its first foldable smartphone in 2017. Information about the phone, which has been dubbed the Galaxy X for now, has slowly been leaking out, and here’s everything we think we know about it so far.


What is a foldable phone?

A foldable phone is exactly as it sounds, one that either folds inward or outward and reveals a tablet-like device when stretched out.Samsung originally worked on fold-in phones, which close up like a wallet, but having completed its work there it has moved on to fold-out phones. These should be more convenient for the user, who wouldn’t need to unfold the phone every time they wanted to use it.


According to rumours Samsung X would come up with a  4k screen resolution  (3840×2160 pixels), which will mantain image quality when it will be folded. The Galaxy X could also feature a dual-camera at the rear, and one of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon processors – most likely now the Snapdragon 835. There should be a microSD card slot, but the battery will not be removable.

Lets hope for the best and with launch of this new revolutionary technology samsung will become pioneers and which will bring more innovation and developments in technology industry in yeras to come.
